Job Description:
Summary We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Coordinator to join our established project team on a fixed-term basis, you’ll be working to transform access to collections information in the National Trust.
We care for an internationally important collection and over the next few years, will be investing in replacing the system we use to manage information to improve accessibility to staff, volunteers and wider audiences to explore, enjoy and use.
What it’s like to work here We look after one of the world’s largest art and heritage collections, with over 1 million items in our ownership, as well as a number of items on loan from other individuals and institutions. Our historic collections are remarkably rich and varied, ranging from internationally significant treasures to fascinating personal effects and ephemera. They include everything from clocks to carriages, libraries to linen, ceramics to carpets, paintings to plastics, textiles to toys, sculpture to shell collections. The information we hold about the collections is business critical, allowing to effectively protect them, care for them, tell their stories and bring our places to life for audiences now and in the future.
Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon and there will be an expectation for you to attend the office. However, there is flexibility on where you’re based at other times. You’ll be required to work at a National Trust location for 40-60% of your working week. This will be discussed in more detail at interview.
What you’ll be doing The Collections Information Access project has several workstreams, and you’ll be supporting all of these, particularly the Business Change and PMO workstreams. You’ll use your skills to help ensure that information is complete and accurate.
You’ll find ways to help us improve the way we do things, including engaging with the project community, reporting efficiently and supporting the continuing deployment of our Project Management Framework.
You’ll collaborate with the Project Managers and wider project team, to share and collate information, and ensure planners and timelines are maintained.
