Job Description:
Learning Support Mentor - Lancing
At Engage, we know that a school runs on quality support staff. We are working with a large, successful and forward-thinking secondary school in Lancing who require a learning support mentor to work with small groups of students to start as soon as possible.
The ideal applicant will:
* Be available to work full time and be able to commit to a long term role
* Have experience working with students with SEND
* Be confident, flexible and enthusiastic
* Be passionate about raising attainment in students and support students to make outstanding progress
* Prepare and share differentiated materials as requested/on initiative to support and
* secure the learning and progress of students.
* Be involved with the school mentoring programme as required
About the school: This is a large 11-16 secondary school who are committed to reducing the attainment gap to ensure that students with SEND can access their broad and balanced curriculum. The team are experienced, nurturing and focused on providing personalised learning programmes for their students.
Experience of working with young people in an educational setting is desirable but we would also welcome applications from graduates who may wish to train to teach in the future. If you have transferable skills and are passionate about education; committed to making a difference and have the know-how and skills to support students with complex needs in bridging their learning gaps; if you are able to balance care and support with challenge, rules and high expectations, we want to hear from you now!
