About our client

We are working with a pioneering global private equity fund focused on the agriculture and food sectors. It invests in the lower mid-market and works closely with its portfolio to guide them through rapid yet sustainable growth. It wants its businesses to become clear industry leaders, and provides patient capital, deep industry expertise and hands-on assistance to achieve outsized returns for all stakeholders. It is looking to add a high-calibre Associate/Senior Associate to join its dynamic and hands on team in London. The candidate will lead day-to-day tasks associated with investments and portfolio management and will work closely with the firm’s partners on a global basis.

The role gives the successful candidate exposure to origination, execution and exit making this a dynamic role. What the job involves *Deal origination and development of investment themes
*Hands-on involvement in transaction execution (structuring, tax, due diligence, investment strategy)
*Providing strategic leadership and operational support (post-merger integration, operational efficiency, business development, strategy development and execution, etc) to portfolio businesses, working directly with executive management teams and boards
*Assist and/or lead in the preparation of models and/or investment files to be submitted to partners, the investment committee, portfolio companies, or external parties. Analyse financial and operational performance of new and existing portfolio business
*Supporting the investment committee on decision making
*Regular travel to the EU and USA
Who we are looking for *Experience in strategy consulting in the private equity team or experience in mid-market investment banking
*Ability to adapt and learn new sectors and markets rapidly; quick study
*Strong problem solving and analytical capabilities
*Compelling written and oral communication skills and fluency in English
*Excellent business judgment
*Entrepreneurial and a self-starter, willing to get involved throughout the entire deal process
*Bachelor’s degree from a top university
