Key Responsibilities *Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging DT lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
*Inspire creativity and innovation, encouraging students to develop strong practical and analytical skills.
*Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback and support tailored to individual learning needs.
*Maintain a safe, positive, and productive classroom environment that promotes respect, engagement, and hands-on learning.
*Develop resources and differentiated materials to support students with varying abilities, including SEN and EAL students.
*Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding academic progress and behaviour.
*Participate in department meetings, school initiatives, and professional development activities to enhance teaching practices.
*Contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities, events, or mentorship as required.
Essential Skills and Experience *Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
*Demonstrated experience in teaching Design and Technology at the secondary level, ideally across Key Stages 3 and 4.
*Strong subject knowledge in DT, with the ability to inspire creativity and practical skills in students.
*Excellent communication and classroom management skills, with a proactive and positive approach to student engagement.
*Commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment that addresses diverse student needs and promotes academic success.
*Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies in an educational setting.
Qualifications *Bachelor’s degree in Design and Technology or a related field.
