Shorterm Group are looking for a Maintenance Electrician / Electrical Shift Technician in Central London.
Job Title: Maintenance Electrician
Location: City of London
Working hours: Work pattern on a 24/7 rota/shift pattern over 28 days. Continental Shift Pattern - 12 hour days
Pay Rate:
Contract - £29.63 per hour via an Umbrella Company
We are seeking Facilities Management Mechanical Maintenance Engineers for an exciting new opportunity to work for group of public spaces within the City of London.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspection and Testing: Regularly inspect and test electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify potential issues or signs of wear and tear. This includes checking wiring, circuits, outlets, switches, and control panels.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical problems when they occur. This involves using electrical testing equipment like multi meters to identify faults and determine the best course of action for repairs.
Repairs and Maintenance: Perform repairs and maintenance tasks on electrical systems and equipment. This may include replacing faulty wiring, switches, outlets, or circuit breakers. Maintenance electricians ensure that electrical components are in good working condition to prevent breakdowns.
Upgrades and Installations: Install, upgrade, or modify electrical systems and equipment as needed. This could involve installing new circuits, outlets, or lighting fixtures, as well as upgrading existing systems to meet changing requirements or safety standards.
Electrical Safety: Enforce and adhere to safety procedures and regulations to prevent electrical hazards.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all electrical work, including inspections, repairs, and maintenance tasks. Proper documentation helps in tracking the history of electrical systems and ensures compliance with regulations.
Emergency Response: Be available for emergency repairs and respond quickly to electrical issues that pose an immediate threat to safety or the operation of a facility. Maintenance electricians must be prepared to work under pressure during critical situations.
Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to proactively identify and address potential issues before they lead to equipment failure or safety risks.
Calibration: Calibrate and maintain electrical measuring instruments and equipment to ensure accuracy in testing and troubleshooting processes.
Compliance: Stay up to date with electrical codes, regulations, and industry standards to ensure that all electrical work meets legal and safety requirements.
Equipment Inspection: Periodically inspect and maintain electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, and motors to ensure they operate efficiently and safely.
To ensure the recording of all required routine data and such special data as may be required from time to time.
Qualifications/Technical skills:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience with Electrical maintenance.
Electrical installations qualification - Preferably 18th edition, minimum 17th edition.
Good understanding of modern building control systems.
Experience using Word, Excel etc.
Able to communicate both orally and in writing.
Experience of large low temperature hot water systems, electro-pneumatic control systems and air conditioning/refrigeration & BEMS/Control systems is essential.
Extensive and broad knowledge of large building services installations.
Good communication skills.
Hands on operational experience in electro-mechanical HVACS installations in large commercial buildings.
