Job Description:
Have you gained experience in either a classroom or childcare environment?
Are you proficient at engaging with children and youths with a wide range of talents and diverse backgrounds?
Have you previously worked in educational institutions, providing support to children in attaining their objectives?
If yes, we have an exciting opportunity for you!
We are looking for enthusiastic teaching assistants who are willing to work with SEN Children in mainstream primary schools in the Middleton and surrounding area. You will be supporting young pupils in a full-time position (8.30 AM -3.30 PM - Monday to Friday).
The school places a strong emphasis on personalised inclusion, offering a creative and aspirational learning journey tailored to each child’s needs, promoting independence and character growth. The supportive school community ensures children’s safety, happiness, and steady advancement towards their individual goals.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Build a trusting relationship with all pupils and communicate according to their understanding.
Collaborate with teachers and specialists to implement individualised education plans (IEPs).
Assist with classroom management to create an inclusive learning environment.
Support children in developing daily living skills for increased independence.
Monitor and report on the child’s progress to facilitate appropriate adjustments in support.
Requirements:
A good understanding of the national Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 Curriculums.
Willingness and ability to adapt in response to changing circumstances.
To be a supportive member of the SEND team.
The ability to handle complex and sensitive issues with empathy and understanding.
The confidence to evaluate learning needs and actively seek new teaching methods.
