Job Description:
DC Personnel are representing a successful manufacturing business in Leicester who are excited to grow their Health & Safety department adding a new team member to support their business.
The business employs over 150 staff across both its branch locations in Leicester. This is a key role for someone who can balance operational safety with strategic planning, ensuring a culture of safety and compliance at all levels.
Salary:
£35,000-45,000 per annum (DOE) To be considered for the higher rate a minimum of 5 years experience is required.
Hours:
Monday to Friday 07:00-15:30
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures.
• Responsible for accident investigations and take precaution to prevent reoccurrence.
• Manage and coordinate Employee wellbeing, working alongside the HR Team.
• Conduct regular risk assessments, safety audits and site inspections to identify and mitigate hazards.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and industry standards.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and external auditors on all health and safety matters.
• Lead safety training programs and workshops for employees at all levels.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, preparing reports and recommending corrective actions.
• Collaborate with management to promote a strong health and safety culture throughout the organization.
What We’re Looking For:
• NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent certification is essential
• A good understanding of occupational health, COSSH, WEEE Regs & DSEAR
• A degree or diploma in Health and Safety, Occupational Health or a related field is desirable
• Experience of working in H&S within a manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations
• Leadership ability, attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and solving safety challenges.
• A confident and friendly manner with the ability to liaise with people at all levels
• Personable and empathetic nature.
• Ability to handle and safeguard sensitive and confidential information.
• Working knowledge of MS Office packages
