Procurement Manager
Location: Runcorn, Cheshire, WA7 3DL
Salary: £40,000 to £45,000 pa plus 10% bonus package + Benefits
Contract: Full time, Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday 08:30 to 16:50

Procurement Manager Role:
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in negotiation with suppliers, contract management, problem-solving, and sourcing materials.
As ReAgent’s Procurement Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth purchasing of materials, optimising costs, and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers. You will also be responsible for a team.
The successful candidate should possess qualifications such as CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) certification to excel in this position.
Procurement Manager Responsibilities:
*Supplier negotiation and relationship management
*Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure advantageous terms.
*Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders.
*Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues related to quality, delivery, or service.
*Contract management
*Draft, review, and manage supplier contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
*Implement contract changes and manage contract renewals.
*Maintain a repository of all contracts and agreements.
*Material sourcing
*Source and evaluate new suppliers and materials to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
*Stay updated on industry trends and new products.
*Collaborate with the technical team to understand material specifications and requirements.
*Team leadership
*Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
*Assign tasks and responsibilities, monitor performance, and provide feedback.
*Create and implement development programmes to enhance the team’s skills and knowledge.
Procurement Manager Qualifications:
CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) or equivalent would be advantageous.
Procurement Manager Skills and Competencies:
*Proven experience as a Purchasing Manager or in a similar role within the chemical industry, with technical knowledge of chemistry and the application of chemicals.
*Strong negotiation skills, with a track record of securing advantageous terms and pricing agreements.
*Experience in contract management, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating supplier contracts.
*Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on root cause analysis.
*Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
*Knowledge of safety and regulatory requirements related to chemical procurement.
*Ability to lead a team and create a strong and positive team culture.
