Job Description:
Maths Lecturer
*Job Type: Full-time (37 hours per week)
*Location: Dorset
*Salary: £25-£35 per hour
We are recruiting for a Maths Lecturer. This role involves delivering high-quality and effective teaching and learning primarily in GCSE Maths, along with some Functional Skills Maths. You will be an integral part of our college English and Maths team, contributing to the academic success of our students.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Contribute to high-quality learning experiences using a variety of teaching and learning methods.
*Ensure that teaching is based on current best available practice and maintains a high standard.
*Provide academic support to students in accordance with agreed procedures.
*Create an outstanding student experience leading to successful completion of GCSE and Functional Skills qualifications.
*Manage student issues within agreed protocols.
*Undertake other reasonable duties as required by the line manager.
*Participate in the College’s appraisal process and undertake any appropriate training.
*Take responsibility for the health and safety of self and others.
*Promote equal opportunities throughout all college activities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Teaching Qualification.
*Relevant Level 3 Maths Qualification.
*Experience in facilitating GCSE Maths learning in a Further Education setting or similar educational environment.
*Knowledge of a range of teaching, learning, and assessment (TLA) strategies to engage students effectively.
*In-depth knowledge of the GCSE Maths curriculum.
*Awareness of issues relating to equal opportunities and cultural diversity.
*Commitment to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults’ legislation.
*Excellent organisational skills.
*Strong team-working capabilities.
*Flexible and adaptable attitude to working with students of all ages.
*Excellent communication skills.
