Job Description:
We’re currently recruiting an ambitious Commis Chef to help us create exceptional food experiences for Chartwells on a full-time basis contracted to 40 hours per week. We’re looking for a driven, focused and enthusiastic commis chef to join us in the kitchens at Christ’s Hospital School. You’ll be part of a brigade of 16 helping prepare freshly cooked meals to our student body.
The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all employees to share this commitment. Any offer of employment will be subject to successfully completing pre-employment checks, including an enhanced DBS disclosure and a Childrens Barred List check. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and we ask applicants to declare all previous convictions and cautions in order to assess their suitability to work with children.

We can cater for BBQ’s, fine dining, working lunches, weddings, bars and all other aspects of hospitality.
Working in our purpose built catering facility you’ll be part of a team of 60 catering to all the needs of the school.
No split shifts, shifts are generally 5.30-2.00 or 10.45-7.15pm, 5 out of 7. The contract is for 48 weeks of the year. We close over Christmas and New Year so you also get to enjoy a well-earned break!
