Job Description:
This role calls for a Compliance Manager who can navigate the complex regulatory environment of the Perfume & Cosmetics industry. The successful candidate will oversee all compliance activities, ensure adherence to legal standards, and foster a culture of ethical conduct within the business.

This organisation is a well-established international distributor of cosmetics & perfume products, boasting a sizeable workforce that spans the globe. They are renowned for supply of a diverse product portfolio and commitment to quality, establishing them as key players in their sector.
Description
Working from their Surrey HQ, the Compliance Manager will ensure that the company meets its obligations in respect of new and evolving legislation relating to the statutory obligations to bring the company’s product range to market.
Responsibilities include:
1. Control and monitor activities to register the companies’ products in accordance with UK legislation.
2. Registering/re-registering new formulations.
3. Perform, control and report on activities to meet the requirements of UK REACH chemicals registration.
4. Ensure that all companies are correctly registered with the Health & Safety Executive (HSE)
5. Maintain a chemical analysis of the companies’ products to ensure that all ingredients falling within the scope of UK Reach are correctly considered for registration
6. Register applicable substances with the appropriate entity
7. Prepare and submit reports internally and to statutory bodies as appropriate.
8. Where the company are acting as the ’Responsible Person’ for brands ensure that all commercial and statutory obligations are met.
9. Conduct audits and investigations into regulatory and compliance issues.
10. Communicate and negotiate with external parties such as regulators and external counsel.
11. Lead employee training programs on legal compliance.
12. Assess company operations to determine compliance risk
Profile
A successful Compliance Manager should have:
*Experience in a compliance role within the FMCG industry and ideally within perfume and cosmetics.
*Knowledge of REACH, Cosmetics Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009, Valpack
*Strong knowledge of legal requirements and controls (e.g. Anti-Money Laundering, ABC, Data Protection)
*Familiarity with industry practices and professional standards ideally the CTPA
*Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
