The Role
Job Summary
The role of the Quality Assuarance Officier is primarily to ensure that our processes and procedures consisently result in a product being manufactured to our customers requirements.
The QA officer manages the sites ISO9001 and FSC accreditation including maintaining the quality systems and manuals accordingly. This is a ’hands on’ role which requires the post holder to regularly engage with production staff and inspect the quality of the products being produced on a daily basis.
The role is the central point of contact for any customer complaints and is responsible for overseeing thorough investigations and robust action plans to deal with quality defects or quality non-conformances.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
*Maintaining ISO 9001 accreditation
*Managaing ISO 9001 and FSC audits
*Maintaining quality manuals and procedures
*Product inspection routines
*Product segegation and quarantine procedures
*Incoming material quality checks when appropriate
*Root cause analysis and corrective action plans for quality defects.
*Identifying opportunities to improve quality control meaures.
*Supplier approvals and evaluations
*Reporting on quality trends in a timely manner
*Document and data control related to the quality systems and performance
Controls & Targets
The QA officer is responsible for maintaining ISO 9001 accreditation and continous improvement in the quality performance of the business. Quality performance is measured in both CPM (complaints per million) and PPM, (parts per million). The QA officer is responsible for collating data to communicate the latest performace against these measures and indentifying correct action plans to improve. As all employees, the QA Officer is also required to set the correct example in terms of Health and Safety on site. A list of key measure includes:
*Safety and Safety for Life Conversations
*CPM
*PPM
*Complaints reduction
*Complaint response time
*Number of internal rejects (waste)
