Job Description:
ROLE - Quality Engineer
LOCATION – Derby
TERM – Permanent
SALARY - £35,000 - £45,000 per annum depending on experience
Your Responsibilities
*Ensure the local Quality Management System aligns with the agreed scope and maintains ISO 9001 compliance.
*Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate and develop new products or implement changes to existing products, ensuring compliance with customer and legislative requirements.
*Monitor and support quality Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) during project phases, providing evidence to demonstrate that targets are being met.
*Oversee non-conformance and concern management processes.
*Implement effective containment, corrective, and preventive actions using the Global 8D approach.
*Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to broader business improvement initiatives.
*Report site KPIs and metrics, highlighting performance, compliance, and improvement opportunities, and develop action plans to address identified gaps.
*Establish and maintain robust quality control systems to meet internal and external customer expectations.
*Plan and conduct internal audits, address identified issues, and implement corrective actions to close non-conformances.
*Adhere to the company Health, Safety, and Environmental Policy.
Qualifications and Skills
Key Skills
*Excellent administrative and organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.
*Thorough understanding of ISO 9001:2015 standards and experience in ISO-compliant environments.
*Proven ability to conduct internal audits and manage compliance systems.
*Strong knowledge of root cause analysis tools and techniques such as 8D, Cause and Effect Diagrams, and 5 Whys.
*Competence in managing systems to ensure process inputs meet required specifications.
*Familiarity with engineering drawings and manufacturing processes.
*Experience with inspection processes and quality control equipment.
People Profile
*Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively across diverse teams and stakeholders.
*Ability to thrive in multi-disciplinary and cross-functional teams.
