We are looking for a highly competent and experienced Conveyancing Assistant to provide crucial support to our conveyancers. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the entire conveyancing lifecycle and be able to manage a busy workload with minimal supervision. You will be a key point of contact for clients and a vital part of the team, ensuring transactions progress smoothly from instruction through to post-completion.
Key Responsibilities:
*Case Management: Efficiently manage a high volume of residential conveyancing files (e.g., sales, purchases, remortgages) from instruction to completion.
*Document Drafting: Draft a wide range of legal documents, including contracts, transfer deeds, and completion statements, with a high degree of accuracy.
*Search and Enquiry Management: Order, review, and report on all necessary conveyancing searches (e.g., local authority, environmental, drainage), and manage all related enquiries.
*Client Communication: Proactively communicate with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, and other solicitors, providing clear and concise updates at all stages of the transaction.
*Post-Completion: Handle all post-completion matters, including the submission of Stamp Duty Land Tax returns and Land Registry applications (e.g., OS1s and K15s).
*Financial Administration: Prepare and process invoices, completion statements, and financial transactions in line with SRA accounts rules.
*Administrative Support: Undertake all general administrative tasks to support the conveyancers, including diary management, filing, scanning, and managing incoming/outgoing correspondence.
*Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to all legal regulations, firm policies, and professional standards, including anti-money laundering procedures.
Requirements:
*Experience: A minimum of 1 years experience of recent and relevant experience working as a Conveyancing Assistant or in a similar role within a residential property team.
*Knowledge: A strong, practical understanding of the residential conveyancing process from start to finish.
*Technical Proficiency: Highly proficient in using a case management system and the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
*Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and client-focused approach.
*Attention to Detail: Meticulous and highly organized with an unwavering commitment to accuracy.
*Independence: The ability to work on your own initiative, manage competing priorities, and meet strict deadlines under pressure.
*Teamwork: A proactive and collaborative team player who is willing to assist colleagues as required.
