Job Description:
Paraplanner Location: Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands (Hybrid - around 60% office / 40% home)
Salary: Up to approximately £55,000 (negotiable depending on experience and qualifications)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Paraplanner to join a leading firm of Chartered Financial Planners based in Sutton Coldfield. This is a key position within a highly regarded, award-winning practice known for its client-centred approach and commitment to delivering exceptional financial planning.
Working closely with one of the firm’s Directors, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of first-class financial advice through high-level research, analysis and report writing. The role is ideally suited to an experienced and technically strong paraplanner who enjoys the depth and challenge of paraplanning, rather than seeking a transition into an advisory position.
Key Responsibilities * Develop a comprehensive understanding of the firm’s advice process and planning philosophy
* Conduct detailed, independent research across a range of financial planning areas, including investments, taxation and estate planning (e.g. VCTs, Business Relief, AIM)
* Prepare bespoke, high-quality suitability reports tailored to each client’s circumstances
* Produce complex calculations and financial forecasts as required
* Analyse and interpret detailed plan information to support advice recommendations
* Provide technical support and guidance to colleagues across the business
* Assist the Investment & Technical Manager with wider firm initiatives and projects
Key Requirements * Diploma in Financial Planning (DipPFS) as a minimum; progression towards Chartered status is advantageous
* Strong technical knowledge and experience in complex personal financial planning
* Previous experience in an independent financial planning or IFA environment
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail
* A collaborative approach and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
What’s on Offer * Competitive salary up to around £55,000, depending on experience and qualifications
*Comprehensive benefits package and study support
* Hybrid working model with a healthy balance of office and home working
* Supportive and professional working environment within a Chartered firm
* Genuine focus on work-life balance and long-term career development
