Job Description:
Elevation Recruitment Group are proud to be working in partnership with a leading manufacturer in the kitchen furniture industry, to recruit an experienced and versatile CNC Wood Machinist to join their high-performing production team.
Job Opportunity: Wood Machinist
Location: Doncaster
Hourly Rate: £12.77-£15.30 (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week (rotating shift pattern)
Shift Pattern:
*Week 1: Monday to Thursday, 6:00am – 2:30pm & Friday, 6:00am – 12:00pm
*Week 2: Monday to Thursday, 2:00pm – 12:00am
About the Role
As a CNC Wood Machinist, you will set and operate a minimum of 8 types of wood machining equipment, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and productivity across the board. This is a hands-on role requiring technical expertise, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset.
You’ll work collaboratively across departments and play an essential part in maintaining high manufacturing standards.
Key Responsibilities
*Set up and operate wood machining and CNC equipment
*Produce components within specification and quality standards
*Read technical drawings and use precision measuring tools
*Record production data manually and via SAP
*Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean, safe work environment
*Identify faults and escalate non-conformities
*Support team members and participate in continuous improvement initiatives
*Undertake additional tasks including packing, assembly, and light maintenance
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
*Proven experience with wood machining and CNC operation
*Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
*Strong understanding of Health & Safety within a production setting
*Physically fit for manual handling and long periods of standing
*Basic computer literacy and good communication skills
*Reliable, trustworthy, and team-oriented
Desirable:
*NVQ / City & Guilds qualification in Wood Machining
*Formal apprenticeship or trade certification
*Experience using SAP or similar systems
