HR Assistant
Reports to: Director of HR UK
Location: Whitstable (with hybrid working – Fridays from home)
Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours:
*Monday to Thursday: 8:30 AM – 4:40 PM
*Friday: 8:30 AM – 1:30 PM
Purpose of the Role
To provide comprehensive HR support to approximately 300 colleagues and managers, acting as the key partner for the HRIS (Dayforce) to ensure it fully supports business needs and enhances employee experience.
Key Responsibilities
*Maintain and update employee records in the HRIS platform (Dayforce), ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
*Assist with system upgrades, testing, and troubleshooting issues.
*Support HRIS training for HR team members and end-users; develop the system to meet business requirements.
*Provide administrative support for recruitment, onboarding, and employee lifecycle processes.
*Manage temporary agency colleagues, including sourcing, induction, and assessments.
*Conduct recruitment for manufacturing-based roles.
*Identify opportunities to streamline HR processes using technology and support automation initiatives.
*Coordinate new starter administration and induction processes; liaise with managers to ensure induction timetables are complete.
*Monitor absence through HRIS, ensure correct documentation, and manage absence-related disciplinary processes.
*Process Long Service Awards and manage leaver administration, including exit interviews and references.
*Support the HR team with general duties as required.
Person Specification
Essential:
*GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grade C or above).
*Experienced administrator with strong organisational skills.
*Proficient in Microsoft Office packages.
*HRIS system experience (Dayforce preferred).
*Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
*Strong IT skills and interest in technology.
*Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
*Confident communicator, approachable, and able to interact at all levels.
Desirable:
*Experience in a generalist HR environment.
*Knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
*Previous experience with Dayforce HRIS.
