Reed Engineering are working alongside our client who are looking to add a Production Manager to their team on a permanent basis in the Glenrothes area. You will play a key role in managing staff, ensuring production targets are met, and supporting cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional results.
Hours: Monday – Thursday 7am – 5.15pm
Salary: £40K – 50K
Daily Duties –
*Collaborate closely with the sales team to provide accurate lead-time estimates and capacity assessments
*Develop and maintain efficient production schedules to meet customer demands
*Work with engineering, procurement, and logistics teams to guarantee production readiness and address any bottlenecks
*Monitor and improve delivery metrics to meet customer expectations and drive continuous improvement initiatives
*Manage relationships with tooling suppliers to ensure timely procurement and availability of critical tools and consumables
*Coordinate preventative and corrective maintenance plans with internal technicians or external service providers to minimise downtime
Candidate Requirements –
*Proven experience in production management within a machine shop or manufacturing environment
*Strong leadership skills and the ability to foster a high-performing team culture
*Familiarity with tooling, CNC machinery, and maintenance practices
*Solid understanding of manufacturing KPIs, especially OTD performance
*Excellent planning, organisational, and communication abilities
*Programming / CAD experience (desirable)
