The Business
Our client is one of the UK’s most respected, manufacturer-approved vehicle repair specialists, a brand renowned for exceptional workmanship, OEM partnerships, and uncompromising quality.
Having recently joined a fast-growing, private-equity-backed repair group, the business is now entering a transformational phase driven by integration, operational excellence and high-growth ambitions.
This is a rare chance to join a market-leading division at a moment of real change and impact.
The Opportunity
We’re searching for a hands-on, technically sharp Interim Financial Controller who can bring stability, structure and pace to a busy finance function.
You will partner closely with senior leadership across the Group, including the MD, CFO, FD and FP&A Director whilst taking ownership of reporting, controls, cash management and operational finance.
If you thrive in PE-backed, fast-moving environments and know how to grab the wheel from day one, this is your playground!
What You will Be Doing:
Financial Reporting & Control
*Lead month-end close and deliver accurate, timely management accounts
*Move the division from cash to accrual accounting

*Ensure full compliance with UK GAAP and Group policies
*Produce reporting packs for Group leadership and PE stakeholders
Business Partnering & Commercial Insight
*Work directly with the MD to enhance financial discipline
*Deliver insightful margin, revenue, overhead and labour analysis
*Support budgeting, forecasting and scenario planning
Cash & Working Capital Management
*Build and maintain short-term cash flow forecasts
*Manage daily cash reporting and liquidity
*Drive improvements across debtors, creditors, supplier terms and stock
Systems, Processes & Integration
*Improve financial processes and reporting timetables
*Support integration into the wider Group finance framework
*Implement system enhancements and consistency across sites
Leadership & Stability
*Lead and mentor the finance team during a period of change
*Provide continuity, structure and best-practice guidance
*Deliver board-level support and analysis
You Will Need
*ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified
*Strong track record as a Financial Controller or senior finance lead
*Experience in automotive, manufacturing, engineering or PE-backed environments (ideal but not essential)
*Ability to impose structure quickly and operate with pace
*High attention to detail and a calm, solutions-driven approach
*Confident communicator able to challenge constructively
What’s On Offer
*£550–£600 per day
*Immediate start (preferred)
*High-impact role in a respected, manufacturer-approved division
*Exposure to a rapidly expanding, PE-backed automotive group
*The chance to shape processes, controls and reporting during a pivotal period
*We envisage that this contract will last up to 6 months.
