Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Legal Secretary to join our Property and Conveyancing team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial support to solicitors and conveyancers, ensuring the smooth running of property transactions from instruction through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
*Prepare and draft legal documents, including contracts, transfers, and completion statements.
*Manage client files and maintain accurate records in compliance with regulatory requirements.
*Liaise with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, and other third parties to progress transactions.
*Conduct property searches and handle Land Registry applications.
*Schedule appointments, manage diaries, and coordinate meetings for fee earners.
*Handle incoming calls and correspondence professionally and promptly.
*Assist with billing, invoicing, and financial administration related to property matters.
*Ensure confidentiality and compliance with data protection and legal standards.
Skills & Experience
*Previous experience as a Legal Secretary or Legal Assistant within property law or conveyancing.
*Strong knowledge of conveyancing processes and terminology.
*Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
*Proficient in Microsoft Office and case management systems.
*High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
*Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
Desirable
*Experience with residential and/or commercial property transactions.
*Familiarity with SDLT submissions and HM Land Registry portals.
