Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Orthopaedic Scrub Nurse to join a dynamic surgical team in Southend-on-Sea on an ongoing locum basis. Key Responsibilities
*Prepare and check orthopaedic instruments, equipment and consumables prior to surgical procedures
*Provide skilled scrub support to surgeons during orthopaedic operations
*Maintain a sterile field and adhere strictly to infection prevention and control standards
*Work collaboratively with the wider theatre team to ensure safe and effective patient care
*Support post-operative procedures and assist in patient recovery care
*Ensure accurate documentation in line with professional and organisational standards
Person Specification
Essential
*Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner with valid NMC or HCPC registration
*Proven experience working as a Scrub Nurse within orthopaedics
*Strong understanding of aseptic technique and theatre protocols
*Excellent communication and teamwork skills
*Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment
Desirable
*Additional post-registration theatre qualifications
*Evidence of continued professional development
