About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Design & Technology Teacher to join a supportive and forward-thinking secondary school in Chesterfield. This is a full-time position ideal for a teacher who is enthusiastic about inspiring students through practical learning, creativity, and innovation within the DT curriculum.
The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering students’ confidence, problem-solving skills, and technical ability.
Key Responsibilities
*Plan and deliver high-quality Design & Technology lessons that engage and challenge students.
*Teach across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (KS5 experience desirable but not essential).
*Support students in developing practical skills, creativity, and design thinking.
*Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback.
*Maintain a safe and organised workshop/classroom environment.
*Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment opportunities within the DT department.
*The Ideal Candidate
*Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
*Has experience teaching Design & Technology in a secondary school setting.
*Demonstrates strong subject knowledge (e.g., product design, resistant materials, engineering, or similar).
*Is passionate about practical learning and student achievement.
*Has strong classroom management and communication skills.
*Works well as part of a collaborative team.
