Job Description:
Our client based in the Scottish Borders, are a progressive and pioneering business. They are recruiting for a Financial Controller to fill a key role within the business as we continue to expand.
The Benefits
* Full time working circa 0830 to 1630. Part time considered

The Role
Reporting to The Directors, the role includes:
* Preparation of monthly and annual management accounts using Sage.
* Overseeing Sales and Purchase legers.
* Supervision of general book-keeping and business records.
* Vat returns, incl. foreign transactions and taxes
* Banking, including foreign currency purchase and transactions.
* Attending management meetings, reporting, and taking minutes.
* Overall responsibility for payroll, and processing where required.
* Extensive use of our dedicated nursery management software, which will be taught in-house.
* Assisting and supporting other departments where necessary
About You
To be considered for this role, you will need:
* Relevant accounting experience and preferably a relevant qualification.
* Proven track record of accounting and book-keeping procedures.
* Familiarity with Sage.
* Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and associated technology
* To show thoroughness and attention to detail.
* Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner.
* To be forward-thinking, flexible, and adaptable to respond to change and swift decision making.
* Desire for continuous improvement and personal development to remain up to date with
legislation, accounting and regulatory developments.
* Ability to seek improved systems and processes of work.
* Familiarity with import and export procedures and regulations would be beneficial.
* To be a proven team player, willing and able to operate within an agile, dynamic, forward-
thinking team.
* Working knowledge of Payroll would be beneficial.
