Company client is seeking a Buyer on a 12-month contract to join our aerospace client’s Procurement Team in Filton. The role is initially onsite until fully trained.
The role:
Your role as a Buyer will involve handling all aspects of sourcing during a contract’s life cycle. You will manage tendering processes, negotiate contracts, and find ways to reduce costs and manage changes. As the main contact, you’ll lead projects as required. Your responsibilities will also include maintaining relationships with suppliers, optimising customer value, and minimizing overall costs and risks.
Your responsibilities:
In this role, you’ll oversee sourcing activities, manage tendering processes, and negotiate contracts to secure the best purchasing terms in line with company requirements. Your responsibility extends to monitoring supplier contracts throughout their life cycle, ensuring that terms and conditions are consistently applied so that suppliers meet expectations across various dimensions (logistics, support, quality, cost, etc.).
As the central point of contact for both internal and external contract matters, you’ll maintain day-to-day relationships with suppliers. Additionally, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams (including Engineering, Program Management, Finance, Supply Chain, and Quality) to handle all contract-related activities. Your role also involves defining and implementing commodity strategies, conducting market analyses, and supporting global sourcing initiatives.
What do we need from you?
To succeed in the role of a Buyer, procurement experience essential along with experience in working in a multi-functional environment. You will also need experience in stakeholder management and influencing internal customers.
Commercial / Contract / Finance knowledge is desirable.
