Job Description:
Are you a mechanical maintenance technician that wants to get off night shifts but don’t want to affect your earning potential? Yes? Then read on regarding this excellent opportunity to join a global manufacturing business that offers job security and excellent work/life balance!
* No night shifts: You will work in a Panama shift pattern (2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 off) but their Rota does not include any night shifts - the latest you will finish a shift is 6pm.
* Early finishes on the weekends: You will work every other weekend as part of the shift pattern, but you will finish at 4pm on a Friday and 2pm on a Saturday and Sunday meaning you will get home in plenty of time to watch Gladiators or Countryfile!
* Good overtime potential: Pay for your holidays each year with your overtime! The current team are earning around £5,000 per year for covering holidays and working additional hours for projects.
* Investment in new equipment: There are a couple of new pieces of equipment being installed this year and there are plans for more to follow.
* No job security worries: The site is part of a large global group with 7 sites in the UK and operations in over 20 countries across 4 continents.
What you will be doing:
* Mechanical fault-finding, diagnosis, and repairs.
* Implementing and developing new processes to resolve faults and prevent repeat issues.
* Ensuring all machines, processes and operations meet required standards.
* Assisting electrical team on breakdowns.
* Ensure all manufacturing plant and tooling is maintained to a high standard and that unplanned maintenance is kept to a minimum.
* Carrying out robust PPM on all machines throughout the plant.
* Assisting with all projects.
* Contributing to the upkeep and maintenance of the computerized planned maintenance system.
What you will need:
* Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
* A time served mechanical apprenticeship obtained in a manufacturing setup.
* Experience with mechanical equipment such as hydraulics and pneumatics.
* The ability to undertake basic machine shop-based work with lathes and millers.
What you will receive:
A salary of £43,500-£45,500 (dependent on experience) + pension, paid overtime, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, etc.
Your working hours:
You will work what is sometimes known as the ’Panama’ shift pattern, 12-hour shifts (2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 off), but only days no nights involved!
When you work a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday it is 6am-6pm, Fridays are 6am-4pm and Saturdays and Sundays are 6am-2pm.
