Job Description:
Do you have a passion for supporting pupils with SEN? Are you able to build relationships with pupils who present with challenging behaviour?
Empowering Learning are working alongside a school in the NG13 area who are looking to add 3x teaching assistants to their team from September 2024. The role will be full time and permanent. Hours of work will be 8:30-4:00
The main duties within the role will be:
* Working on a 1:1 basis with pupils who present with challenging behaviour
* De-escalating situations where pupils have presented with extreme behaviours
* Liaising with the class teacher and senior leaders around progress of the pupils
* Supporting children back into class after they have been removed
* Using sensory areas in school to help calm children down
* Leading academic sessions to help engage children with their English & maths
The school are happy to consider applications from people who:
* Have experience working with children with extreme behaviours
* Can build relationships with the children
* Possess the ability to engage children in an academic setting
* Are available to work on a full time basis
* Have an enhanced DBS or be willing to apply for a new one
