Job Description:
Are you an experienced Environmental Manager? Are you looking for your next contract role? Would you like to work on a large interesting upcoming civil engineering scheme? If so, we have got just the role for you!


Our client has an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Manager to join their team in the South Essex area. As the Environmental Manager, your role will involve developing environmental management plans, managing input from specialist consultants, co-ordinating and supporting other operational functions to ensure environmental constraints are considered. There is also a client facing element and ongoing progress reporting as well.
The client is paying an extremely competitive daily rate and is able to offer long term work over a minimum of 12 months.
The Role
You will be responsible for the following:
* Implementation of excellent environmental management on a major infrastructure scheme

* Ability to identify, appraise and communicate environmental risks and opportunities

* Management of environmental specialists, consultants and suppliers to develop environmental management plans and discharge environmental commitments and requirements

* Collaboration with customer and Scheme Delivery Partners on evolution of environmental management systems, communication of good practice, lessons learnt and innovation

* Assist the Lead Environmental Sustainability Manager and wider Infrastructure environmental sustainability team deliver best practice initiatives and improvement projects.

* Oversee the development and delivery of suitable environmental training for all project staff.

* Represent and promote the Sustainability and Innovation Enabling Function in internal and external meetings,

The Candidate
* You will hold a relevant construction, civil engineering or environmental degree or related qualification
* Able to display previous experience gained in a similar role.
* Experience working on civil engineering or infrastructure projects
* Minimum Full Membership with IEMA or similar professional membership
* Full driving licence.
