Job Description:
Are you an experienced Finance Director looking for an interim opportunity to make a difference in a financially healthy charity? Do you have a strong background in the charity sector and thrive in both strategic and hands-on roles? Are you available at short notice to step into a crucial role leading a successful and well performing finance team?
My client, a small but impactful charity with a mission to improve services and support to vulnerable people across the UK, is seeking an Interim Finance Director for a 3-6 month contract. This role will provide vital leadership during the recruitment of a permanent FD, focusing on the seamless operation of the finance function and contributing to the broader financial strategy.
Key responsibilities include:
* Overseeing the business-as-usual operations of the small finance team.
* Managing all Board-level responsibilities typical of a Finance Director and being key support service to the CEO.
* Participating in monthly finance sub-committee meetings.
* Leading the finance team to ensure timely and accurate month-end reporting.
* Maintaining an awareness of the broader financial outlook and advising accordingly.
This role offers the chance to work remotely, with only occasional in-person meetings at various locations around the UK, providing flexibility and a supportive work environment.
The role can be either full or part time for the right candidate (minimum three days per week); and the small company exemption to IR35 will apply meaning the successful candidate can work via their own Ltd company if they choose.

* Fully qualified accountant with significant experience in the charity sector.
* Proven track record in short-term senior assignments, including Board interaction.
* Willingness to engage in both high-level strategic discussions and day-to-day financial operations.
* Ability to start at short notice for a smooth handover from the current post holder.
