Job Description:
Summary With your love of working with people and desire to provide a great service, you’ll welcome our visitors to the shop, answering any questions they have.
Salary: £11.50 per hour
Contract/duration: Fixed-term until 27th October 2024
Hours/working pattern: This role is offered as a zero hours contract, hours may vary from week to week and cannot be guaranteed. Typical shifts are 10am-5:45pm. Weekend and bank holiday work required. Some evening work in October.
Interview Date: Tuesday 18th June
The successful candidate will be available throughout July, August, September and October (excluding any pre-booked holidays).
What it’s like to work here Fountains Abbey shop is an important part of the visitor experience, you’ll develop your knowledge of the site as well as learn about retail at the National Trust. The shop is a busy and varied environment stocking a range of products across multiple departments, including locally sourced and plants. You’ll join a team of hard-working, outgoing, and friendly staff and volunteers. This role reports to the Retail Manager.

What you’ll be doing As Retail Team Member, you’ll offer customers help and shopping advice, working as a team to deliver great service. Other duties include receiving and unpacking deliveries, creating and maintaining displays both inside and outside, watering/looking after our plants and keeping the shop floor and our storage facilities clean and organised. This role would suit anyone with a passion for delivering great customer service and an interest in learning about retail.
