Job Description:
Summary We’ve got an exciting opportunity for a Programming & Partnerships Officer to join our team at Chartwell.
Are you a creative person who loves working with communities and connecting people and places? Our Programming and Partnerships Officer plays an important role in helping everyone to feel welcome when they visit Chartwell and Emmetts Garden, and making sure they get the most out of their day.
Interviews will be held on the 13th June.
What it’s like to work here The properties and landscapes that make up the Chartwell portfolio are broad ranging, from an international-renowned Treasure House to an Edwardian plant-hunters garden, from Georgian home that tells a story of global significance to the wide sweeping countryside where National Trust founder, Octavia Hill, lived - and this variety is reflected in the role.
You’ll be a core member of the small but friendly Experiences and Visitor Experiences team who are passionate about bringing to life engaging stories from across the property and delivering high-quality programming to a wide range of local, national, and international audiences. You’ll find staff and volunteers across the portfolio warm and welcoming, and the team especially works flexibly across our sites as well as occasionally from home. Reporting to the Senior Programming and Partnership Manager you’ll be part of a busy Visitor Experience Team.
This role will suit you if you relish working with diverse content, people from all walks of life, and in a fast-moving environment set amongst beautiful buildings and gardens.

What you’ll be doing Together with your team, you’ll be devising and running a programme of events and activities with partnerships at their heart.
You’ll be focussed on building local partnerships with community groups, and you’ll lead on activities that are being run by these partner organisations.
As well as planning and organising a programme of events and exhibitions to run in all the places covered by your role, you’ll be linking these events to the places themselves to make sure they’re both relevant and appealing to people.
You’ll be responsible for some budgets and will be supervising volunteers.

* experienced in running events and activities, and/or working with community partners

* able to measure and assess results, and show their impact
* good at talking and listening to, and getting on with, all kinds of people
* someone who puts people first, and understands what’s needed for everyone to receive great customer service
* flexible and happy to work with different teams and partners, and to go wherever you’re needed to balance the workload of your team
The package The National Trust has the motto ’For everyone, for ever’ at its heart. We’re working hard to create an inclusive culture, where everyone feels they belong. It’s important that our people reflect and represent the diversity of the communities and audiences we serve.
