Our client in Fakenham are looking for a Design Engineer with a mechanical background to join their close knit team. This is a great opportunity to join a forward thinking business with exciting career progression opportunities.
As a Design Engineer, you will need the following:
* 2 years’ experience as a Design Engineer
* Mechanical Engineering background
* A sound understanding of mechanical engineering, with good knowledge of machined parts, fabricated assemblies
* The ability to quickly and effectively create part and assembly drawings in accordance with BS8888 for internal and external
* The ability to prioritise workload
* Excellent working knowledge of Solidworks 3D CAD or similar
* Able to produce effective, detailed manufacturing information on time
* Working knowledge of Machinery Standards and relevant legislation
* Able to work as part of a small team
* Excellent communication skills
As a Design Engineer, your duties will include:
* Creation of detailed drawings of custom parts
* Source supplier quotes for custom made parts, within timescale and budget
* Procurement of custom made and project specific parts, within timescale and budget
* Creation of BOMs for special products
* Creation of assembly drawings / work instructions for manufacture
