Job Description:
Summary Are you a creative person who loves working with communities and connecting people and places? You’ll play an important role in helping everyone to feel welcome when they visit Melford Hall, and making sure they get the most out of their day.
This role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in 12 equal instalments over the year. You’ll work 1170 hours over the duration of the contract, and on average, you’ll work 3 days per week but again, this will be flexible depending on operational demand.
Regular weekend and Bank Holiday working is essential, based on the needs of the business.
What it’s like to work here As a Programming & Partnerships Officer you’ll be a key member of a small, friendly property team, working collaboratively with the Welcome Manager and other property leads to deliver a varied programme of visitor experiences. You’ll also regularly undertake Duty Manager shifts on a rota basis meaning you’ll ensure the property is safe for visitors, staff and volunteers and that all operations are running smoothly. You’ll also be responsible for dealing with any complaints that may arise within any department and resolving issues as diverse as a blocked toilet, a first aid incident (once trained) or a power outage. You’ll also be the event controller during a fire evacuation.

Leading a small team of volunteers, you will co-create, coordinate and deliver nationally lead initiatives as well as property specific activities and will identify opportunities, establish and grow partnerships within the local community.

You’ll work across the property, but your role will have a particular focus on developing and delivering our visitor experience for our parkland.
What you’ll be doing Together with your team, you’ll be devising and running a programme of events and activities with partnerships at their heart.
You’ll be focussed on building local partnerships with community groups, and you’ll lead on activities that are being run by these partner organisations.
As well as planning and organising a programme of events and exhibitions to run in all the places covered by your role, you’ll be linking these events to the places themselves to make sure they’re both relevant and appealing to people. You’ll also be responsible for some budgets.
Who we’re looking for We’d love to hear from you if you’re:
* experienced in running events and activities, and/or working with community partners
* familiar with audiences in the areas of heritage, culture, arts and the natural environment
* used to running small partner-led projects within the heritage and arts sectors
* able to measure and assess results, and show their impact
* good at talking and listening to, and getting on with, all kinds of people
* someone who puts people first, and understands what’s needed for everyone to receive great customer service
* flexible and happy to work with different teams and partners, and to go wherever you’re needed to balance the workload of your team
