THE OPPORTUNITY

I am delighted to be working with this prestigious business based in County Durham with a wide variety in their business interests including Property, Land Management, Farming, Leisure & Tourism, Sporting and Forestry you will be working in a varied role. As an organisation they have recently been under a large growth journey and are looking to add a new role in the form of an IT Technician to help support the wide infrastructure.  

Salary : £35,000 (up to)
Location : Staindrop, County Durham
Hybrid working : No, this role is based on site
Working hours : 37.5 per week, Monday - Friday

DAY TO DAY

As an IT Technician, you will support an infrastructure of around 200 staff with 100 end users ensuring smooth daily operations and enhancing technology across the business. You will be the sole Technician on site and need a degree of confidence to be able to work alone whilst having external support from 3rd party providers.

Your role encompasses various responsibilities, including:
* IT Infrastructure Management: Oversee devices, storage, and O365 accounts.
* Support: Provide first and second-line IT support to around 100 end users across multiple sites.
* Security: Implement Cyber Essentials, conduct system audits, monitor compliance, and ensure device security.
* End-User Device Management: Procure, set up, manage assets, and securely dispose of redundant hardware.
* Connectivity Troubleshooting: Resolve issues, manage Active Directory and APIs.
* Collaboration: Work with 3rd party IT providers, the Marketing team for web and social media security, and Heads of Departments on IT projects.
* SharePoint Administration: Manage the business Intranet, file organization, backups, storage requirements, and archiving.
* Policy and Procedure Management: Regularly review and update IT policies and support documentation.

YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Knowledge and Technical Skills: * Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Server, Active Directory, Office 365, M365 Azure, and Microsoft Entra.
* Strong understanding of general IT infrastructure (hardware, databases, operating systems, LAN, WAN).
* Familiarity with network management, firewalls, routing, VPNs, API, and SFTP setup and management.
* Experience with help desk procedures, change management processes, and managing supplier relationships and escalations.
Experience: * Background in diverse IT roles, from basic support to supplier management.
* Security-focused mindset, ensuring compliance with policies and standards.
* Passion for providing exceptional technology experiences to all users.
* Ability to handle varied tasks, working independently or as part of a team.
* Strong communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
* High integrity, enthusiasm, and willingness to travel, holding a valid driving license.
