Job Description:
Are you a qualified (or QBE/equivalent) Finance Director/Head of Finance seeking a new challenge?
I have the privilege of working with a great client in the Torbay area who is seeking an experienced financial professional to provide strategic and financial guidance to ensure the company’s financial commitments are met. The role involves developing policies and procedures for sound financial management and control within the organisation. This position requires a fully qualified finance professional with a strong background in financial accounting and management.
Day to Day of the Role: * Oversee professional and personnel management of the Finance and Controlling departments.
* Manage financial accounting in compliance with statutory and internal group regulations.
* Coordinate the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
* Manage the relationship with external auditors and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
* Secure and manage group reporting.
* Lead on budgeting, oversee reforecasts, and present these to Management and Group.
* Prepare medium-term and annual financial planning.
* Support the development of financial strategy, including establishing and analysing key performance KPIs.
* Identify and mitigate financial risks such as exchange rates and interest rates.
* Secure resources including insurance and storage locations.
* Provide operational and financial advice to management.
* Continue and expand the scope of controlling within the company.
* Take process responsibility for finance and controlling.
* Manage and develop employees within the finance department.
* Implement corporate strategy in the finance sector.
* Process insurance claims in cooperation with the Group.
* Oversee commercial decision-making from tender analysis to pricing analysis.
* Ensure security and completeness in accounting processes and seek general improvements to systems.
* Organise corporation tax payments and reconciliation.
* Align with the management team for accurate forecasting.
Required Skills & Qualifications: * Proven experience in (industrial) accounting and possibly personal administration at a senior level.
* Fully qualified (ACCA/CIMA/CIPFA/ICAEW).
* Strong commercial and business awareness.
* Excellent problem-solving and management skills.
* Ability to work under pressure, with assertiveness and efficiency.
* High attention to detail.
* Proficiency in MS Office and experience with ERP systems.
