Job Title: Teaching Assistant - SEN Unit
Location: DE21 area, Mainstream School
Start Date: September 2024
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join the SEN unit within our mainstream school located in DE21. This is a full-time position starting in September 2024, offering a permanent contract to the successful candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide dedicated support to pupils with SEN, both in individual and group settings, to facilitate their learning and development.
* Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering differentiated lessons that cater to the diverse needs of pupils within the SEN unit.
* Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where all pupils feel valued, supported, and encouraged to achieve their full potential.
* Collaborate with the SENCO, teachers, and other professionals to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and support strategies effectively.
Requirements:
* Previous experience working with children with SEN, preferably within a school setting.
* A compassionate and patient approach, with the ability to build rapport and establish positive relationships with pupils.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
* A proactive attitude and willingness to support pupils’ holistic development, including their social, emotional, and academic progress.
Additional Information:
* This is a full-time position, offering a permanent contract starting in April 2024.
