The Accounts Semi-Senior Role: As an Accounts Semi-Senior, you will play a crucial role in preparing financial statements in compliance with relevant financial reporting standards. Your responsibilities will include:
*Preparing financial statements from source documents/records to final accounts for review by the appropriate manager.
*Creating accounting schedules to support the balances and transactions included in the financial statements.
*Adhering to proper accounting standards and working on a diverse range of accounts.
*Effectively managing time to ensure that jobs are finished within budget and meeting deadlines.
*Developing and maintaining good client relations, resolving queries and obtaining necessary information.
*Providing a high level of service to meet client expectations.
*Making timely recommendations in relation to accounting matters, financial reporting, and accounting systems.
Additional Accounts Semi-Senior Responsibilities:
*Assisting with bookkeeping, VAT return preparation.
*Preparing control account reconciliations and other month-end procedures.
*Preparing quarterly management accounts for onward submission to clients.
The Ideal Accounts Semi-Senior Candidate: To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
*AAT Level 3 or 4, or ACA studier.
*Minimum of 2 years’ experience in accounts preparation within a practice environment.
*Strong practical knowledge/experience of accounts preparation within a practice environment.
*Strong double-entry knowledge and skill.
*Cloud-based accounting systems knowledge including Sage, Xero, and QuickBooks.
*Strong IT skills including Word, Outlook, and Excel, for the production of letters and spreadsheets.
*Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
*Basic tax knowledge - awareness of how to do tax computations, PAYE, VAT.
*Accuracy, organisational, and time management skills.
*Confident when dealing with clients and expressing your views.
*Methodical and logical thinking.
*Initiative to identify problems and provide solutions.
*Ability to work within a team and handle strict deadlines and conflicting priorities.
