Job Description:

As the Hospital Director you will be to lead the service operating a hybrid clinical and operational model and will
* Provide overall leadership and management responsibility of the hospital and the multi-disciplinary team and be responsible for the delivery of excellent care and operational performance.
* Ensuring both quality and financial targets are met, and facilitating the development of quality healthcare services, ensuring that the service respond to the changing needs of commissioners and patients, and also reflects market trends and evidence-based practice.
* As a member of the senior management team, you will contribute to the strategic development of the hospital, ensuring adherence to the hospital’s objectives and business plan.
* Building the hospital’s reputation for high quality care and service.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Provides leadership and direction for staff in maintaining clinical and non-clinical standards, and in implementing service improvements.
* Manages and develops a highly skilled and motivated workforce through recruitment, selection, development and performance management processes.
* Manages the delivery of the service’s business plan, ensuring the effective and efficient management and control of staffing, budgets, materials and equipment.
* Supports and contributes to the maintenance of the business relationships liaising with referrers and commissioners.
* To develop and improve the service in the interests of the service users, carers and the partnership informed by current best practice guidance.
* Contribute to the development of policies, procedures, processes and QI initiatives.
* Responsibility for ensuring Safeguarding standards and procedures are consistently met and applied.
* To ensure that arrangements are in place for supervision and appraisal including performance feedback, including a regular (at least monthly) meeting in a 1:1 with the Regional Service Director.
* To take part in an annual individual performance review by the Regional Service Director, informed by 360 degree feedback as appropriate. To attend to identified leadership development needs, keep up to date with mandatory training and conform to management standards.
* You will also be required to take part in the Senior Manager on call rota.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need
* An excellent track record in a management role within the healthcare sector (essential), together with an understanding of mental health issues and a passion for improving clinical quality and patient care.
* A passion for working with Children & Young People.
* Strong commercial acumen, in order to support successful service delivery and development, people management, proven skill in budget management and control, business development, and stakeholder relationships.
* An inclusive and supportive management style balanced with strong leadership is a critical factor in the success of this role, in order to provide direction and implement change.
* Experience of leadership, and success in workforce development, recruitment and retention.
* Substantial experience of working within inpatient services – including an ability to ensure services that are safe, effective and compliant with core registration standards.
* Demonstrable ability to think strategically, develop practical innovative and creative solutions to the management of strategic issues and complex problems.
* Proven skill in budget management and success in support of financial recovery.
