Job Description:
Empowering Learning are currently seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school located in the heart of Kidderminster, committed to providing exceptional education and support for children with special educational needs (SEN).
We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join this vibrant school. The successful candidate will work as part of a team under the direction of a qualified teacher assisting pupils to access a broad curriculum, based on the National curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support students in their learning journey and help them achieve progress during lessons.
* Assist the teacher or tutor with preparing educational materials and lesson plans.
* Ensure students thrive not only in academic settings, but also in developing self-help skills, life skills and social understanding.
* Provide one-on-one support to students, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals.
* Support the emotional and social development of students, fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
* Promote and ensure the safety and well-being of all students at all times.
Requirements:
* A teaching assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
* Previous experience working with children with special educational needs.
* A genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of SEN students.
* Knowledge of autism and/or special educational needs.
* Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
