Job Description:
GBR Recruitment are exclusively working with a well respected client within the South-West of the UK, recruiting for an experienced Credit Controller to join their small close knit Finance / Accounts team at their Head office.
This role is working Monday to Friday days, with 5 days in the office (no hybrid).
Primary Duties:
* Approve credit limits or cancel credit facilities for customers.
* Provide timely reports to commercial teams, giving full details of the balances on all customers’ accounts.
* Promote payment by direct debit for both new and existing customers.
* Process requests for direct debit payment promptly and accurately.
* Process statements as necessary.
* Charge interest to overdue customers where appropriate.
* Opening new customer accounts within agreed limits, obtaining status reports, authority to deliver.
* Deal with account enquiries from customers to facilitate timely payment.
* Deal with depot enquiries e.g. credit limits, accounts on stop.
Secondary Duties:
* Request and issue all overdue account reminders.
* Contact key customers by telephone prior to reminder letter being issued.
* Set up distress arrangements in the form of phased payments.
* Provide finance scheme information when available to relevant customers.
* Notify relevant individuals (commercial teams) of accounts to be placed on credit block due to aged debt issues.
Experience & Skills:
* Credit Controller experience in a high volume fast paced business.
* Used to working in businesses with 1,000’s of customer accounts.
* Strong PC Skills across Word, Excel & varying internal systems.
* Happy to be flexible with start & finish times on a roster basis.
