Job Description:
Conference and Events Manager – HarwellUp to £36,000 per annum (DOE) + quarterly bonus scheme.Generally Monday to Friday but flexibility required for business needs.Hybrid working – minimum of 3 days required on site.We are looking for an experienced Conference and Events Manager to join our team at Harwell Science and Innovation Campus. Our workplace food experiences are driven by our promise to live more sustainably and responsibly, working towards our goal of net zero by 2030.Key responsibilities include but not limited to: * Responsible for the sales and operations of delivered catering, events and conference across various Harwell Campus Venues, and implementation of engaging and profitable public facing events.
* Identify opportunities for sales growth and work collaboratively with the team to implement.
* Motivation of the team to drive revenue, measure and feedback on progress.
* Attend the weekly sales meeting with the team where applicable to support and motivate for success.
* Hold a weekly function sheet meeting and ensure any concerns or opportunities are raised.
* Support with the marketing strategy for the venue.
* Always take a proactive approach to doing things differently to be ahead of the competition.
* Think outside the box and have a “can do” approach.
* To manage the business in an effective and controlled manner with considered decision making to achieve budget profits.
* Ensure cost and sales records are accurately inputted and maintained.
* Accurate forecasting of the business with a structured approach to improvement where forecasts fall short of expectation.
* To understand the P&L in full and report on a monthly basis each line to the Contract Director.
Who you are: * 3+ years’ experience in C&E sales processes, operations and revenue management
* Previous experience in producing quality proposals and have great attention to detail
* Proactive, ambitious, strong networking skills, entrepreneurial
* Can show evidence of revenue growth from actions implemented
* Experienced in achieving KPIs
* Good understanding and working knowledge of CRM systems & Microsoft 365
* Excellent communication skills – both oral and written
* Fully knowledgeable and accomplished in venue showrounds and customer appointments
* Be able to establish positive working relationships and communicate effectively
* Must show initiative, drive and ambition to deliver and be a confident decision maker
* Self-motivated and ability to maintain focus in the achievement of sales targets
* Demonstrate a thorough approach to work
* Confident in making proactive/outbound calls
