I am looking for an experienced Lead Accountant to join my client on a full time and permanent basis. My client is a leading Aerospace Manufacturing organisation and are looking for individuals who possess diverse experience in both analysis and accounting and are a competent Microsoft Excel user.

Job Description

* Ensure financial business processes complies with General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and/or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
* Generate, forecast and analyse trends in sales, finance and other areas of business to assist in financial planning.
* Participate in the monthly close process by generating various journal entries, preparing required reconciliations, and analytically reviewing specific general ledger accounts for accuracy and proper valuation.
* Perform annual internal audits, identifying inadequate, inefficient, or ineffective internal controls and recommends improvements.
* Confirm that book closings are achieved within an acceptable time schedule.
* Prepare monthly forecast and bridge analysis for the P&L.
* Analyse reports and/or corrects multiplicity accounting fluctuations to ensure proper decision making.


Lead Accountant

Essential Experience/Skills/Qualifications

* Post-Secondary Degree in Accounting or equivalent combination of relevant 5-7 years of relevant experience is required.
* Experience in financial forecast modelling with Excel is highly desirable for this role.
* Thorough understanding and experience in financial accounting and control processes, while ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and/or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
* Knowledge of accounting, financial reporting and financial analysis acquired through related work experience in increasingly complex roles.
* Strong analytical and independent problem-solving skills to evaluate financial results.
*  Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and database management tools.
