Job Description:
My client is looking for a dedicated Chef to join their Cafe. The ideal candidate will be responsible for food preparation while maintaining our high standards relating to food safety, portion control and legal requirements. This role is integral to delivering outstanding customer service and contributing to the success of the Cafe.
Day to Day of the Role: * Support the management team in adhering to procedures while maintaining efficient levels of service.
* Maintain the highest hygiene standards in cooking and serving food to customers.
* Contribute to menu development and create daily specials.
* Collaborate on food presentation and service with the kitchen team and Cafe Manager.
* Uphold food standards and work closely with the management team.
* Be knowledgeable about the menu and daily specials, with a focus on allergens and ensure this information is communicated to all team members.
* Prepare ingredients, cook meals and plate dishes throughout the day according to customer requirements.
* Keep all equipment clean and well-maintained, reporting any defects to the duty manager.
* Adhere to Environmental Health, Hygiene, and Health and Safety regulations, ensuring compliance with legislation.
* Perform end-of-day cleaning and kitchen close down duties.
* Participate in training to stay updated with food hygiene regulations.
* Work flexibly across different areas under the brand as needed.
* Be a proactive member of the team to ensure the cafe’s success.
Required Skills & Qualifications: * Proven experience as a Chef.
* Knowledge of hygiene and health & safety regulations within a kitchen environment.
* Ability to work efficiently and maintain high standards under pressure.
* Creative flair for menu development and special dishes.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to respond positively to customer feedback.
* Competency in preparing ingredients and cooking meals to a high standard.
* A team player with a flexible approach to work.
