Role : Finance Assistant
Location: Cleckheaton, Parking on Site
Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 (can be flex for school drop offs etc)
HybridPattern: 2 days in the office, 3 days from home
Salary: £26-30,000 per annum
StartDate: July
We are currently seeking two Finance Assistants to join our client, a dynamic construction services company. As a Finance Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Cash and Payments Manager in delivering a high-quality service to the business. Responsibilities:
* Prepare bank payments and transfers to suppliers, sub-contractors, employees, and inter-company
* Reconcile bank accounts on Nav14 to bank statements
* Assist with compliance activities, including audit and tax payments
* Manage monthly and quarterly VAT and HMRC payments
* Support credit card administration, including statement distribution and handling queries
* Prepare daily summary sheets and liaise with the Treasury department
* Responsible for dealing with payment requests and queries
* Post standard journals into the cash book and purchase ledgers
* Perform weekly bank reconciliations and monthly reviews
* Act as the first point of contact for banking queries
* Support the wider teams with ad-hoc work as required
Qualifications and Skills:
* Desire to study for a professional accounting qualification is desired
* Some finance or accounting studies would be advantageous
* Experience in an accounting role or internships is advantageous
* Knowledge of raising bank payments and completing bank reconciliations is a plus
* Strong organisational skills and ability to manage workload and meet deadlines
* Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels
* Attention to detail and ability to adapt to change
