Role Overview: The Fostering Service at Haringey is dedicated to ensuring that Looked After Children and Young People receive excellent care. Our mission is to highlight the importance of fostering, ensuring positive outcomes for children living away from their birth families. The service is responsible for recruiting, assessing, training, and supporting foster carers, including those who are ’Connected Persons’.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure compliance with Fostering Services Regulations and National Minimum Standards.
* Develop and implement permanency plans for children who cannot return to their birth families.
* Assist Independent Reviewing Officers (IROs) in reviewing Care Plans, ensuring timely implementation of permanency plans.
* Provide supervision, support, and development opportunities for foster carers to promote positive outcomes for children and young people.
About You: We are looking for a qualified social worker with a background in statutory work with children, young people, and their families, particularly within diverse and multicultural communities. You should have strong assessment skills and an in-depth understanding of the Regulation 24 process and Special Guardianship. Experience in court work and fostering assessments is essential.
