Job Description:
Pertemps Reading are currently recruiting for an Electrical Technician to join an established hydrogen refuelling equipment manufacturer, based in Hungerford.
As an Electrical Technician you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical components and systems within innovative refuelling systems. Your expertise will ensure the reliability, efficiency, and safety of the products, contributing to the advancement of hydrogen technology and sustainable transportation.
Weekly Rota: Monday to Thursday 09:00 - 17:30
Friday 09:00 - 17:00
Key Responsibilities for an Electrical Technician:
- Electrical System Installation: Install, wire, and connect electrical components, control panels, and power distribution systems according to engineering drawings, diagrams, and specifications.
- System Testing and Commissioning: Conduct functional tests, performance evaluations, and system integration testing to ensure proper operation and compliance with electrical standards and regulations.
- Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults, malfunctions, and wiring issues in refuelling equipment, utilizing diagnostic tools and techniques to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
- Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance tasks, and calibration procedures on electrical systems and components to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of electrical installations, maintenance activities, test results, and equipment performance data, documenting findings and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, procedures, and regulations while working with electrical equipment, high-voltage systems, and hazardous materials, promoting a culture of safety within the workplace.
Required Qualifications for a successful Electrical Technician:
Essential
- Technical certification in electrical engineering technology, electrical systems, or a related field.
- Extensive experience working as an electrical technician in a manufacturing or engineering environment, preferably with experience in electrical installation, testing, and maintenance.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regs
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and occasional overtime as needed to support project deadlines and production schedules.
Desirable
- CompEx Ex01-Ex04 Electrical Inspection & Installation certification preferred, demonstrating competency in hazardous area installation, maintenance, and inspection.
- Knowledge of ATEX regulations and experience working in potentially explosive atmospheres.
- Experience with process instrumentation: i.e. 4-20mA instruments.
