To be successful in this role:
You will be a qualified solicitor in the UK, holding or eligible for a valid Solicitors’ Practicing Certificate along with 2-6 years PQE with exceptional academic credentials and relevant experience in corporate tax, including international tax issues.
Other requirements for this role include:
* Previous experience in a law firm, accounting firm, or in-house tax department is preferred
* Demonstrated commitment to and experience in tax advisory work, in addition to transactional support
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex tax concepts clearly and effectively to clients and colleagues
* Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, building positive relationships and contributing to a supportive work culture
* Knowledge of tax issues relevant to growth companies is advantageous, but not essential, provided there is a genuine interest and commitment to the sector
* Familiarity with UK/US cross-border tax issues for corporate groups is beneficial, with a willingness to further develop expertise in this area
Job role and responsibilities:
As a Tax Associate, you will play a pivotal role in further developing the firm’s tax practice within the London office. Your responsibilities will span various areas, including but not limited to M&A transactions, venture capital finance, international business structuring for highly mobile clients, UK/US advisory work, and funds tax. A key aspect of the role involves maintaining a flexible mindset and a proactive approach to resolving intricate tax issues, while effectively communicating these matters to clients and internal teams. You will collaborate closely with colleagues across different practice areas, providing specialized tax support and contributing to the firm’s overarching objective of delivering exceptional client service. Key responsibilities for this role include:
* Provide comprehensive tax advice and support on a wide range of matters, including M&A transactions, venture capital financing, international tax planning, and funds tax
* Analyse and address complex tax issues, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and optimizing tax efficiency for clients
* Work closely with clients to understand their business objectives and tailor tax strategies to support their growth and expansion initiatives
* Collaborate with colleagues in other practice areas, such as corporate, finance, and regulatory, to provide integrated solutions that meet clients’ needs
* Stay updated on relevant tax legislation and industry trends, sharing insights and best practices with colleagues and clients
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing ongoing support and guidance to help them navigate tax-related challenges and opportunities
