Who We Are Looking For:
Financial Analyst
Work Schedule - 37.5 hours per week
Location - Aberdeen Head Office (50/50 hybrid work schedule)
Reporting to the Corporate Treasurer / Head of Treasury & Corporate Development, the Financial Analyst will be a driven and energetic individual with a desire to expand their career. The successful candidate will enjoy analysing complex data (e.g., foreign exchange exposures). In addition, the candidate will have a new area of expertise, regular networking opportunities, great internal and external commercial exposure, as well as the opportunity to gain an understanding of the banking world (both operationally and from a lending perspective).
Responsibilities:
Note: Experience in all below areas is not an expectation - there is strong senior support within the team and ample training. Excel skills and intellect / problem solving ability are essential. The role is extremely varied and is not a technical accounting role.
* Assistance with any future refinancing work to include liaison with banks, advisors, and lawyers
* Assist with monitoring the group’s FX position across a wide range of currencies, with the objective of mitigating risk. Particular attention to be paid to balance sheet and cash positions
* Assist with reviewing currency forecasts and flag any high-risk areas to the Corporate Treasurer
* Liaise with external stakeholders to obtain market analysis on topical areas
* Produce presentations for any FX / hedge proposals to be communicated at the TMC.
* Get up to speed with our Treasury management cloud-based system (Tm5)
* Assist with the review of Tm5 for any potential areas that are either under-utilised or not activated - make pro-active suggestions
* Engagement with our external supplier (Coupa) will be required
* Candidate would become part of the guarantees team (designated guarantees mailbox) and would have overall ownership for monitoring requests in respect of new issuances (with ample senior support)
* This would entail answering any queries and processing guarantee requests through to issuance
* Maintain guarantees summary file for presentation at biweekly cash calls.
* This area of Treasury is linked to the commercial team and to live projects / contracts / bids and therefore is a very commercial area of the business. It therefore requires a high level of bank communication, management of stakeholder expectations and some commercial acumen - as well as escalation of urgent items on a timely basis.
* Due diligence - assist the Corporate Treasurer with DD on any specific Treasury related areas for any new opportunities as and when they arise e.g., bank accounts, guarantees, cash repatriation etc
* Assist the Corporate Treasurer with progressing and closing out the Saipem integration.
* All bank accounts will require to be open, operational and policy compliant.
* All guarantees will need to be successfully transferred across to KCAD.
* Cash repatriation and funding routes require to be well established - strong links to the tax team
* To provide analysis and review of existing operational banking structure
* Enhancements to existing products to also be considered as part of this review
* Liaise with external stakeholders to develop proposals for any potential migrations
* Assist Corporate Treasurer with the presentation of any proposal summaries
* Work with Corporate Treasurer to develop any integration plan should a migration be approved
* Participate and assist on the TMC where Treasury related decisions are made to ensure that these are scheduled regularly, and that any action points are followed through
* Regular review and monitoring of interest rates applicable across the group
* Any potential hedging opportunities to be explored - Board papers to be prepared as and when required
* Given the groups high level of activity on both refinancing and M&A this has been and will continue to be a highly active area!
* To assist the Corporate Treasurer with any ongoing project work
* Will require to work with internal stakeholders to aid implementation of any projects in practice
* Assist with monitoring of overseas cash levels
* Regular follow ups to ensure compliance with policy
Key Skills & Experience:

* An openness to change and continuous improvement
* Proven attention to detail and the ability to apply a wider commercial perspective and consider the impact of any decisions
* Demonstrated appreciation of Tax, Accounting and Treasury
