Role: Senior IT Engineer
Location: Skegness, (Hybrid Work)
Salary: Up to £45,000
Job Purpose
We are looking for an Infrastructure Specialist to enhance our service desk team at the head office in Skegness, Lincolnshire. This role presents a thrilling opportunity for a proactive individual to manage internal support issues and maintain our current infrastructure. Additionally, the successful candidate will deliver exceptional support to customers, resolving issues related to applications and operating environments.
Role Responsibilities:
* Manage technical environments by configuring security settings, administering backups, and monitoring system performance.
* Provide infrastructure and system assistance to internal and external customers through service desk tickets, adhering to SLAs to ensure high service availability.
* Install, configure, and maintain systems, including performing upgrades, routine updates, patches, and configuring security settings.
* Implement systems according to best practices, compliance requirements, and company standards.
* Actively monitor and manage server and network performance; perform regular maintenance checks and corrective actions as needed.
* Collaborate with third-party providers to ensure systems and network infrastructure are maintained within SLAs.
* Work with technical teams to ensure successful system deployments and service delivery.
* Assess current systems and develop or enhance SOPs and documentation as needed.
* Partner with senior management to identify and implement opportunities for improving infrastructure reliability, stability, and efficiency.
* Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all IT assets and ensure accurate assignment within the asset management system.
Essential Skills:
* Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a comparable role.
* Excellent troubleshooting skills to quickly and effectively resolve technical issues.
* Strong communication and interpersonal abilities for effective interaction with non-technical users and the creation of written documentation.
* Capability to take ownership of tasks and complete them both independently and in collaboration with a team.
* Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize them effectively.
* Proactive and initiative-driven approach to work.
Technical:
* Proven experience with a variety of technologies and tools, including:
* Demonstrated experience in automating tasks, processes, and deployments.
* Experience with SaaS, IaaS, and cloud hosting environments.
* Strong understanding of networking concepts like TCP/IP, DNS, and VPNs.
* Skilled in hardware management, encompassing laptops, desktops, printers, mobile devices, and other related equipment.
* Microsoft operating systems and applications.
* Microsoft SQL Server.
* Remote management and mobile device management systems such as Microsoft Intune and ManageEngine Endpoint Central.
* Microsoft 365, including Azure Active Directory.
* Cisco networking and firewalls.
