Job Description:
Management Accountant – Woking / Hybrid – Up to £50k
A fast-growing travel company are looking for a management accountant with expertise in the travel industry. This role will play crucial in helping to develop growth of the business, centred around financial management and reporting of the UK and international travel business.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting within the travel industry, particularly with experience in handling IATA, ATOL, and ABTA requirements
Responsibilities:
* Prepare and analyse financial statements, ensuring compliance with IATA, ATOL, and ABTA reporting requirements.
* Support the changes in operational and financial systems and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
* Maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely submission of financial reports.
* Monitor and manage cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting to support financial planning and decision-making processes.
* Maintain regular reviews to ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal controls.
* Provide detailed financial analysis and reports to senior management, highlighting key trends, variances, and performance metrics.
* Collaborate with Finance Manager to ensure accuracy and timeliness of transactions.
* Work with external auditors and regulatory bodies to adhere to the annual reporting timetable.
* Stay updated with changes in industry regulations and standards, implementing necessary adjustments to maintain compliance.


Qualifications and Experience:
* Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CPA) completed or in process.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the travel industry.
* In-depth knowledge of IATA, ATOL, and ABTA reporting requirements and regulations.
* Strong understanding of financial management, accounting principles, and practices.
* Proficiency in accounting software and financial reporting tools.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
* High level of integrity and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
