Duties of the Manager in a CAMHS team:
A manager in a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) team oversees the delivery of mental health care to children and adolescents, ensuring high standards of service and effective team performance. Their key duties include:
* Leadership and Supervision: Providing leadership to the CAMHS team, supervising staff, and fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
* Service Delivery: Ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care that meets the needs of children, adolescents, and their families.
* Clinical Oversight: Overseeing clinical practices and protocols to ensure compliance with healthcare standards and regulations.
* Staff Management: Recruiting, training, and managing staff, ensuring they have the skills and support needed to perform their roles effectively.
* Resource Management: Managing budgets, resources, and equipment to ensure efficient service delivery and sustainability.
* Quality Improvement: Implementing and monitoring quality improvement initiatives to enhance service effectiveness and patient outcomes.
* Policy Implementation: Developing and enforcing policies and procedures in line with organizational and regulatory requirements.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborating with other healthcare providers, community organizations, and stakeholders to coordinate care and services.
* Data and Reporting: Collecting and analyzing data to monitor service performance, preparing reports, and making data-driven decisions for service improvement.
* Crisis Management: Addressing any immediate issues or crises within the service, ensuring swift and appropriate action.
These duties ensure the effective management and continuous improvement of CAMHS, providing vital support to young people with mental health needs.
Candidates should have previous community experience running a team and experience in a CAMHS setting in some capacity is required. Excellent assessment and communications skills are required. The post covers the geographical areas of South London and is most suited to someone who lives in London and is able to drive.
Requirements and qualifications required for this role:
* Current and valid registration with the NMC.
* Proven experience within a Perinatal Service
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
* Members of staff should be a driver and have CAMHS/Perinatal experience.
